Welcome to the medical practice of Dr. MD Abdur Rashid, MBBS. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our medical services and outline the agreement between you (the patient) and Dr. MD Abdur Rashid (the practitioner).
By accessing our medical services, scheduling appointments, or using our healthcare facilities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Dr. MD Abdur Rashid is a registered medical practitioner with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC Reg: A-92649) and Maldives Medical and Dental Council (MMDC Reg: TMR 4858). Our practice specializes in Family Medicine, Primary Care, and Community Health.

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legal agreement between you (the "Patient") and Dr. MD Abdur Rashid (the "Practitioner") regarding the provision of medical services. By accessing our services, you agree to comply with all terms outlined herein.
Our practice operates in accordance with:
- Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) regulations
- Maldives Medical and Dental Council (MMDC) standards
- International medical ethics guidelines
- Applicable healthcare laws and regulations
Important: If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, you must not use our medical services.
2. Medical Services Provided
Our practice provides comprehensive medical services including but not limited to:
Emergency Notice: Our practice does not provide 24/7 emergency services. For life-threatening emergencies, please contact your local emergency services (999 in Bangladesh) or visit the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
3. Appointment Policy
3.1 Scheduling Appointments
Appointments can be scheduled through the following methods:

- Online: Through our website booking system (if available)
3.2 Cancellation Policy
We require advance notice for appointment cancellations to accommodate other patients. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees as follows:

3.3 Late Arrivals
Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment may be asked to reschedule. We make every effort to accommodate late arrivals, but this depends on the clinic schedule and may not always be possible.
3.4 Telemedicine Services
Virtual consultations are available for:
- Follow-up appointments and medication reviews
- Non-urgent medical advice
- Prescription refills (where appropriate)
- Discussion of test results
Telemedicine consultations require stable internet connection and may not be suitable for all medical conditions.
4. Fees & Payment Policy
4.1 Payment Methods
All fees are due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept the following payment methods:
- Cash (BDT): Bangladesh Taka
- Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, MasterCard (subject to availability)
- Mobile Banking: bKash, Nagad, Rocket
- Bank Transfer: With prior approval and receipt of payment confirmation
4.2 Insurance Coverage
We currently work with select insurance providers. Please verify with our office staff if your insurance is accepted. Patients are responsible for:
- Any co-payments required by your insurance plan
- Deductibles that have not been met
- Services not covered by your insurance policy
- Obtaining prior authorization when required
4.3 Fee Structure
Our fee structure is as follows (prices are in Bangladesh Taka - BDT):
Note: Fees are subject to change without prior notice. The current fee schedule is displayed at our reception and available upon request. Additional charges may apply for specialized tests, medications, or medical supplies.
5. Privacy & Confidentiality
We are committed to protecting your medical information in accordance with:
- Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) professional guidelines
- Maldives Medical and Dental Council (MMDC) ethical regulations
- International standards of medical ethics and patient confidentiality
- Applicable data protection and privacy laws
5.1 Medical Records Management
Your medical records will be maintained according to the following standards:
- Secure storage in electronic and/or physical format with access controls
- Access restricted to authorized medical personnel only
- Sharing with other healthcare providers only with your written consent, except in emergencies where consent is implied
- Retention for the minimum period required by law (typically 7-10 years for adults, until age 25 for minors)
- Secure destruction of records after retention period expires
5.2 Confidentiality Exceptions
We may be legally required to disclose information without your consent in the following circumstances:
- Suspected child abuse or neglect
- Threats to harm self or others
- Court orders or legal subpoenas
- Public health reporting requirements (e.g., infectious diseases)
- Quality assurance and peer review processes (with identifying information removed)
Confidentiality Assurance: We take patient confidentiality seriously. All staff members sign confidentiality agreements and receive regular training on privacy protection.
6. Patient Responsibilities
As a patient of our practice, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your medical history, current symptoms, medications, and allergies
- Follow the treatment plan prescribed by the doctor
- Inform the doctor of any changes in your condition or adverse reactions to treatment
- Keep scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice for cancellations
- Pay for services rendered in a timely manner
- Treat our staff and other patients with respect and courtesy
- Use telemedicine services only when you have a stable internet connection and appropriate privacy
- Provide feedback about your care to help us improve our services
7. Liability Limitation
While we strive to provide the highest quality medical care, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Medical practice involves inherent uncertainties and no specific outcomes can be guaranteed
- Our liability for any claim arising from medical services is limited to the fee paid for that specific service
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Telemedicine consultations have limitations and may not be appropriate for all medical conditions
- You are responsible for following medical advice and reporting any concerns promptly

9. Policy Changes
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or notification at our clinic. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Major changes to fees, appointment policies, or service terms will be communicated to existing patients via email or posted prominently in our clinic at least 30 days in advance when possible.
